About
Founder | Director
Alfred Lee is a dedicated landscape architect with over 20 years of experience creating thoughtful and sustainable landscapes. Guided by a profound respect for the natural environment, history, culture, and climate, he strives to design spaces that harmonize beauty, functionality, and ecological integrity. His collaborative philosophy ensures each project resonates with its surroundings and the people it serves.
Alfred’s career began as an intern at Colin K. Okashimo and Associates in 2003, where he officially joined after graduation in 2004. In 2008, he moved to STX Landscape Architects, where he steadily progressed to become Director in 2016 at the age of 34. During his remarkable 16-year tenure at STX, he led diverse projects across Asia, including the NTU Yunnan Garden redevelopment, completed in 2020 and recognised as a finalist at the World Architecture Festival 2022.
Throughout his career, Alfred has contributed to award-winning residential, commercial, and institutional projects across Singapore, the Maldives, India, Malaysia, and beyond. His expertise spans concept design, design development, and construction documentation, with a consistent focus on integrating sustainability and cultural relevance.
Alfred is also deeply committed to education and mentorship. Since 2013, he has served as an external critique panel member for final-year students at his alma mater, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and he has been a part-time lecturer at the National University of Singapore since 2021, teaching Water Sensitive Urban Design. His contributions extend to industry recognition, having served as a jury member for the Malaysia Landscape Architecture Awards in 2016 and as a guest speaker at prestigious events such as the DATUM Green conference during the Kuala Lumpur Architecture Festival in 2022 and the Sabah Landscape Exchange (SLEX) 2024 in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.
